One of the best things about blogs is that you never know who is going to materialise on your platform or who might be listening to the conversations. Great example of this in the last fortnight is the post from Heather Yaxley at PR Conversations which led to Jim Grunig dropping by to take part in the conversation. From all sorts of perspectives - as a co-blogger at PRC, a practitioner, a reader of Grunig's research and as someone who believes you never stop learning - I have been quite absorbed by the unfolding discussion. If you have time, I suggest you wander over and take a look, not just at the resulting conversation but also the other resources Heather points too - which distracted me nicely for quite some time. You may not agree with all that is said, but it certainly provides considerable food for thought.
I agree. Blogging is definitely the way of the future and an excellent tool for facilitating this ‘conversation society’ in which we now live.
The amazing calibre of people that can drop into a blog never ceases to amaze me. Blogging provides for thought collaboration and cross-way conversations which is great for brainstorming ideas and communication across diverse networks; however it also highlights the tact and cultural intelligence one should uphold when expressing their opinions through social media channels.
